Terms of Service

Short version: use TruffleHunt for legitimate reselling, bring your own eBay keys, pay on time, and we'll keep your hunts running. Below is the binding version.

1. Definitions

"Service" means the TruffleHunt web application and worker pipeline. "You" means the account holder. "We" means IE Mikalai Tsiareshchanka (ID No. 322781272), Village Varkhani, 7th Street N7, Adigeni Municipality, Georgia. "BYOK" means Bring Your Own Keys — eBay developer credentials you supply.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18+ and not a resident of a country subject to applicable export-control sanctions. You must hold valid eBay developer credentials in good standing. We reserve the right to terminate accounts where the underlying eBay credentials have been suspended by eBay.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to: violate eBay's Developer Agreement; scrape eBay outside of its sanctioned Browse API; resell our API surface; reverse-engineer the pipeline; or automate bidding/purchasing (we don't and won't support that). We process every poll using your own quota — any rate-limit or ban on your eBay credentials is your responsibility.

4. Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles VAT, sales tax, and PCI compliance. Forager is a permanent free plan. Hunter and Hunter Pro are paid plans; their current monthly, annual, and promotional prices are shown on the pricing page and in Settings → Billing before you pay. You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing — your paid access continues until the end of the paid period. We do not pro-rate refunds on cancellation. Plan downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period; upgrades are pro-rated and charged immediately.

5. Free plan and temporary offers

New accounts start on permanent, non-expiring Forager; Forager does not automatically convert to a paid plan or expire. TruffleHunt does not include an expiring Hunter plan trial. We may separately advertise a limited free-hunt preview or another temporary offer. Any such offer is governed by the limits and expiry shown with the offer and does not grant Hunter plan entitlements.

6. Service levels

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. The Service page (trufflehunt.app/status) reports current component health and recorded monitoring incidents from the preceding 90 days when those records are available. Incident history is not an uptime calculation and does not establish an uptime service-level agreement. We do not promise an uptime percentage or automatic service credit under these Terms unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise.

7. Data ownership

You own your hunts, your tracked items, and your eBay credentials. We own the Service software, the diff-engine, the URL translator, and the public Telegram bot. We have a non-exclusive license to process your data solely to run the Service.

8. Termination

You may terminate at any time. We may terminate with 30 days notice, or immediately for material breach (e.g. acceptable-use violations, chargebacks, fraud). On termination, all of your data is purged within 30 days; eBay credentials are deleted immediately.

9. Liability

Our total liability under these Terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, lost deals, or for the consequences of relying on a missed or delayed alert. The Service is best-effort by nature.
